Stumbling across Blogs

There are so many awesome women writers/bloggers out here in cyber world. Each one I have read has a great deal of talent and passion about writing to offer. I admire the consistency of the blogging and posting as well as intereaction with readers. I hope to achieve this soon as well. I have read mainly book review ones. I am going to be linking them soon, too so be sure to check them out.

Writing is something so special to me, and reading has the same significance. I love being introduced to new literature; right now, I am enjoying some mainstream literature and suspense novels. I still love my Latina authors, but until they write some fabulous new books, I am going to enjoy some suspense novels and romance novels, too. I do not like those romance novels where the chase is so thrilling, and then they fall in love, and that's it. I like romance novels who have an ounce of reality thrown into them, something about marriage, family, etc.

Every woman should take some time to read a book they can relate to or find joy in. Books can be so enjoying; they can take you different places and different worlds, and even make you feel differently. Take time to read a book that peaks your interest and holds it. There are so many possiblities, inspiration, and entertainment in a book. Not only that, I read because with every word I read, I learn something. There's so much knowledge to gain from books. I'd prefer a book over tv any day.

Right now, I am reading Tropical Secrets: About Holocaust Refugees in Cuba. It is written in poems, so I love the trails of verse that follow through each page. The different character perspectives intrigue me as well. Margarita Engle is going to be one of my favorite authors; I can already tell I am going ot read so many more books by this author. Thanks to Queen Sucia chica Lit Writer~ Alisa Valdes Rodriguez, for introducing this wonderful read.

Soy Una Mujer

I will forget for the moment that it has been perhaps anos, since I last blogged.

Every woman should remember who she is deep within. Often, we become so consumed by our every day responsibilities and commitments that we forget, deep within we are still a woman. A woman with thoughts, ideas, and damnit, you know we are full of feelings.

Today, I remind you, every woman, young, middle-aged, and those young at heart - don't ever forget you are someone, beyond what society creates or what your career creates or even what your husband/partner creates. Embrace yourself for who you are, and let that part shine.

I'll admit that for the past couple of years as I've taken on a role of being a wife; I have gotten a little lost from myself. I love my husband with all my heart, but at the same time, I love God and I love myself. I am lover of the color red, lover of books and language, writer of poetry and stories, lover of Tejano music, I am passionate about Mexican culture, I am proud to be Latina, proud to be from Texas! Looking forward in my life. Como mi mama dice, como mi abuela Julia decia, Dios por delante.

Don't let me forget ... I am lover of inspiration and motivation for women; we should all strive to achieve our goals and dreams, don't get so caught up in everyone's life, that you forget your own, ok hermanita? Do what makes you happy, so at the end of the day, don't think "i am exhausted, I worked at this job for a pay-check, I cooked supper, because I had to, I fed the baby because I had to," No, mija - don't feel that way. I want you at the end of the day to feel "Wow, I am truly blessed with a wonderful career, wonderful husband and family, thank you God..." Only you have the power to change your circumstances, it starts with ganas, that little initiative that pushes us to do what we love the most.

My ganas for writing have returned with full force; finally, I am releasing what is inside, and spinning stories from a web of many colors... My goal - to make you smile, make you cry, make you laugh, make you think, make you remember, make you strive to achieve, and most important, make you my readers.
